Our CEO, Dr Panos G. Kelamis, set out the strategy and road ahead for the Cyprus Hydrocarbons Company, the National Oil & Gas Company for Cyprus, at the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference, which took place in Nicosia over the 14-15th March 2017.
In his presentation, Dr Kelamis outlined CHC’s capability to both protect the interests of the Republic of Cyprus and support Oil and Gas companies operating in Cyprus. CHC has built up capability in the following 4 areas, which will act as pillars for knowledge creation for the oil and gas industry in Cyprus
- Prospectivity Assessment & Exploration
- Field Appraisal and Development
- Production & Commercialisation
- Health Safety & Environment (HSE)
Dr Kelamis also identified the strategy for CHC, with key activities including the creation of an Oil & Gas culture in the Republic, the promotion of collaboration amongst Government, Private sector & Academia, and the establishment of CHC as a key player in the E&P arena with active participation in the Cyprus EEZ. The overall strategy of CHC aims to fuel economic development & prosperity in Cyprus.
